HISTORY

Jared Sare was a young large animal veterinarian whose life was dedicated to the community he lived in. A man of creative and insightful thought, progressive and caring. A man who never met a stranger and extended himself to help others. If there was a phrase, which Jared lived by, a brand he rode for, it was to help others. He was dedicated to the agricultural community which he served, and helped those who needed help be they children, single mothers, or others who might be underserved.

Jared loved the large sagebrush landscapes, and the stockmanship and horsemanship skill-based traditions of the Great Basin states of the Rocky Mountains.

PURPOSE & MISSION

The Jared Sare Ranch Rodeo is built around the idea that helping others enriches our community through continuing the traditions of ranching, family, horsemanship, and stockmanship.100% of all proceeds and sponsorship funds go directly to support 4-H Scholarships for youth to continue their education post-high school, be it in the trades, community college, special certifications, or a four-year degree.

The events of the Jared Sare Ranch Rodeo are drawn directly from practices of livestock management which are alive and well in the mountains, and high sagebrush pastures of Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Montana, and Nevada.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENTS

The events of the Jared Sare Ranch Rodeo are all four-person teams designed so the whole

team participates together. They are timed events of skill and teamwork

Trailer Loading - two designated yearlings are loaded without roping them into an open trailer

Sorting from a Rodear - Three head of cattle are sorted from a rodear. The rodear must be held in a designated area, and when all three head are sorted out they are penned in a three-sided pen across the area from the rodear.

Team Doctoring - Two designated animals are roped and doctored, one after another, by the four team members.
